Aruba Networks Joins OpenSEA Alliance

SUNNYVALE, CA, Dec 13, 2007 (MARKET WIRE via COMTEX News Network) -- Aruba Networks, Inc. (NASDAQ: ARUN), a global leader in user-centric networks and secure mobility solutions, today announced that it has joined the OpenSEA (Secure Edge Access) Alliance at the Promoter level, and intends to participate in the Alliance's work on an open 802.1X supplicant. 802.1X is an IEEE standard for network access control that authenticates devices seeking connection to a network by using a secure handshake between a supplicant on the device seeking authentication and a server that contains a list of authorized devices. The non-profit OpenSEA Alliance is dedicated to open source solutions for networking and security, and a cross-platform open source 802.1X supplicant is the organization's first project.

The Alliance seeks to accelerate technology adoption and enhance network security through the use of open source and standards-based solutions. The open source 802.1X supplicant project uses a modular architecture to enable new enhancements, including new authentication types, extensions to support Windows XP, a robust user interface, and an API for extensibility.
