VympelCom Selects Huawei for 3G equipment

[Moscow –26 December 2007] Huawei Technologies Co., ("Huawei"), a leader in providing next generation telecommunications network solutions for operators around the world, is to supply equipment for organization of 3G telecom infrastructure for «VympelCom».

Supplier of NGN networking solution was selected through tender, organized by «VympelCom». In terms of the tender all the equipment was distributed to five lots, three of which covered supply of each basic part of 3G network: radio elements, network core – switches, and systems of data packet transfer. Two winners were selected for each category. Distribution of Russian regions between them is to be finished to the end of this year.
